Advancing Futures offers a variety of individualized services to assist people with disabilities in Johnson County with finding and maintaining a competitive job in the community, including:

 

• Exploring and identifying career interests

• Job shadows with an employer

• Assistance creating a resume, completing job applications, and preparing for interviews

• Interpersonal and soft skill development to improve workplace communication, etiquette, and professional relationships

• Navigating workplace accommodation requests, disability disclosure, and advocacy

• Job coaching and performance support

 

To receive these services, you must be referred by your counselor at Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services. If you do not qualify for long-term funding sources, private pay job coaching is available.
